We aim to grow the number of cyber security companies anchored in Wales by 50% and upskill 1500 people with hands-on technical skills through bitesize, affordable training.

We will do this by joining the dots across Wales between large companies that need cyber problems solving, the innovative “ideas people” who can solve these problems, and those with the entrepreneurial know how to turn the solutions into viable start-ups.

Tried and tested entrepreneurship and venture-building programmes with real world application Venture Building Programme

One of our objectives is to create more high-growth cyber companies. Working closely with our industrial partners, the venture building programme is our primary way of achieving that objective.

We identify the needs or “challenges” of business, and we then look to match these with the “ideas people” who have innovative ideas on how to solve them.

We publish the challenges and support challenge responders in developing new solutions – match-making people with innovative ideas on how to solve these challenges from Universities and beyond, with teams on the entrepreneurship programme at the Alacrity Foundation. That way, there is sufficient balance from a tech, cyber, commercial and business skillset to help create a viable company.

The Alacrity Foundation have established entrepreneurship and venture-building programmes, that provide graduates with practical business training, software skills and mentoring so that they can develop as entrepreneurs and launch their own technology companies. With an exceptional network of 100+ experienced mentors, drawn from a range of businesses. These mentors, many of whom are leaders in their sectors, give their time to share their expert knowledge and experience.

While Tramshed Tech is a leading co-working space and start-up community in the region, with cybersecurity companies on premises and a commitment to growing technology-driven and cyber enterprise.
