Got a cyber idea that you’d like to bring to life? Respond to one of our challenges

The Cluster

25 industry-leading challenges, from 25 world leaders in cyber security, by 2025. Powering the CIH venture building programme

Our CyberSight25 programme is a game-changer in understanding market demand.

Cyber Innovation Hub runs a unique venture building programme where we build commercial teams around people with big ideas. We are aware that taking an idea from concept to commercial success is both daunting to many and incredibly difficult for everyone.

Of particular interest to us are people who have a deep understanding of technology, methods, and ways of working – and have a vision and motivation to solve the world’s most pressing cyber problems. This is often PhD students or academics, but could equally be someone with years of experience in an operational industry role and a clear vision to solve the problems they can’t current solve in their job – “why has nobody built this yet, it’s so obvious…and I would buy it tomorrow” – sound like you? Find out more about our venture building programme here

We see several major blockers to building a successful commercial venture. One is developing a balanced team – equipped with skills in technology and innovation, as well as commercial accumen, customer development, and software skills. If you have the right idea, we’ll build that team around you on our venture building programme, and even pay you £1500 a month to build your team

Access to mentors from the cyber industry, commercial advisors, customer development skills, and user interface design are also of vital importance – you’ll have access to all of these on the venture building programme

A major requirement is market traction for your new commercial venture. An idea, and a valuable solution that someone will pay for are two very different things. Our CyberSight25 programme is a game-changer in understanding market demand.

By 2025, we aim to have 25 well defined cyber problems, articulated by 25 of the World’s leading cyber experts. This includes CISOs, CIOs, and anyone else who is living and breathing a cyber problem that they just can’t find the right solution for – despite all the marketing hype!

Thought Leadership

By 2025, in collaboration with the Alliances Project, CIH will be developing 25 podcasts with 25 world leaders in cyber security from around the World. Typically Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), or Chief Information Officers (CIOs), we will be picking the brains of serious players in the cyber industry seeking thought leadership in defining the cyber security problems of today and tomorrow.

Venture Building

If you believe you have a solution to any of these problems, or any of our other existing challenges, then submit your idea. It’s quick and easy, and can even be done with a short video pitch.
