University of South Wales
The University of South Wales (USW) is one of Britain’s most exciting and ambitious universities. Innovative, thriving and sustainable, we work to build better futures for our students, our communities and our partners economically, socially and culturally.
USW places engagement, collaboration, and partnership working at the heart of everything we do, working alongside business, industry, and the social economy, to address identified needs and achieve the best outcomes for individual learners and organisations. We work in collaboration with industry, researching and innovating to tackle some of the biggest global challenges, from energy and health to security and sustainability.
Here at USW, we have a National Cyber Security Academy based at our Newport City Campus. The Academy plugs the skills gap in the industry by providing practical, hands-on training to allow our students to spearhead the fight against cyber crime.
The Academy also gives students the opportunity to work with clients on a variety of live projects including pen testing, digital cleansing and the investigation of security risks.
Our Cyber courses are award-winning with many courses accredited by BCS. Three of our courses are certified by the NCSC, a part of GCHQ. We are also delighted to have been recognised by the NCSC as an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Education – Gold award.
USW has been named Cyber University of the Year for four consecutive years at the National Cyber Awards 2019-2022 and we are proud of our excellent graduate statistics.
