How Dwr Cymru Welsh Water Is Building Cyber Capability

SECTORS:

  • CNI
  • Utilities
  • Water

The Challenge

Supplying over 828 million litres of water daily to 1.4 million homes and businesses, downtime isn’t an option for Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water. As cyber threats became more complex, Welsh Water recognised that resilience must go beyond systems, it must live in people too.

The Result

The training gave Welsh Water staff the tools and confidence to act under pressure. “The course was highly relevant, engaging and expertly delivered,” said a Welsh Water spokesperson. “It provided essential knowledge to better safeguard our infrastructure.” Staff left with stronger awareness of OT risk, practical response skills, and the confidence to protect critical services. Welsh Water now recommends the course to other organisations seeking to strengthen OT cyber resilience.

“Participating in the OT102: Foundations of OT Cybersecurity course, delivered by Cyber Innovation Hub, strengthened our understanding of OT risks and practices. The programme was relevant and expertly delivered, equipping staff with knowledge to safeguard infrastructure. We recommend this course to organisations seeking greater resilience.” – Dŵr Cymru/Welsh Water
