A Day in the Life of Michael Perry – Cyber Security Consultant at Jacobs

Michael’s journey began with a bachelor’s degree in Forensic Computing and Security, followed by his participation in the Jacobs Graduate Development Programme. What sets his experience at Jacobs apart is the exposure to various roles and industries, providing invaluable insights for someone embarking on their career. Michael Perry tells us more about his role:

 “I am currently contracted to a UK government department providing cyber security analysis and consulting services to a major national infrastructure project.

Within this role, I conduct day-to-day monitoring of the cloud estate for suspicious activity, while spearheading the development and implementation of new detection rules and security features to improve the effectiveness of these processes.

I also use my existing knowledge of cloud security to provide security guidance and support to the wider digital team to inform their decision-making.”

Michael’s impactful contributions have resulted in a more resilient client estate. Through his efforts, he has successfully thwarted cyber-attacks, preventing compromises to the organisation. The tangible impact of his work underscores the rewarding nature of his role in ensuring the security and integrity of critical infrastructure.

 

Future Growth Plans
