Matthew Turner

Head of Operations

As Head of Operations at the Cyber Innovation Hub, Matthew is responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of all aspects of the programme. He works closely with Director Prof. Pete Burnap and the Hub’s partners to align activities, maintain a strategic view, and make sure the Hub achieves its ambitious vision.

He has been with Cardiff University since 2004, holding roles in Registry, the School of Dentistry, and the School of Social Sciences before joining the School of Computer Science & Informatics in 2014 to establish the National Software Academy. He later became Industry and External Engagement Manager for the School, building strong partnerships between academia and industry until joining CIH in 2022.

Matthew’s blend of operational expertise and industry engagement experience underpins the Hub’s mission to position South Wales as one of the UK’s leading cyber clusters.
